SOULFLY: Seek And Strike!
January 29, 2002FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SOULFLY TAKE BREAK FROM THE STUDIO FOR CO-HEADLINING TOUR WITH STATIC-X
Phoenix, AZ - Max Cavalera and the SOULFLY tribe are currently putting the finishing touches on their latest studio effort to be released late Spring 2002. In the meantime, SOULFLY will be heading out on the road on a co-headlining stint with STATIC-X, with SOIL and ONE SIDE ZERO as support. The tour kicks off on January 31st at The Warfield in San Francisco, CA. This will be the first tour of many to come for SOULFLY since being in the studio, and will give fans the first opportunity to hear new music from the band's as-yet-untitled album. The band's leader and creative mastermind Max Cavalera says, "We are really excited to go out with STATIC-X and play a few new songs for the fans. Some new songs we are going to play are 'Downstroy', 'Enterfaith', and 'Seek And Strike'. Other song titles on the album also include "Last Of The Mohicans", "Brazil", and "Soulfly III". Roy Mayorga, the band's original drummer, is back in the line up and will be joining SOULFLY on stage for the first time in over 3 years.
Max not only wrote the music and lyrics for SOULFLY's upcoming release - he also produced it. Cavalera had this to say about the album: "I was able to have all the ideas I wanted, with no interference, the end result is SOULFLY straight to the point, which contains the best of both the 1st and 2nd albums. There is some even heavier stuff on this album, and some even more freaked out stuff that fans will just have to wait to hear." Max worked along side with engineer Otto D'Agnolo, who engineered the Max Cavalera/Alex Newport side-project NAILBOMBPoint Blank and the latest DMX record.
Max has one more thing to say: "SOULFLY fans will be very happy with this album." See for yourself preview the new songs from the album this winter when SOULFLY hit your town with STATIC-X starting 1/31/2002.
